Vicki Towndrow from Ecclesall, Sheffield asked us to traditionally upholster three antique armchairs for her new home. One chair was an Edwardian drop-in seat armchair, the second a Victorian pin-stuffed armchair and the third an antique, can backed nursing chair. Vicki’s nursing chair required re-springing and completely re-upholstering (see photographs below). The frames on the other antique chairs were stripped back and the woodwork was lightly cleaned and polished in order to preserve the original finish. Vicki chose a beautiful, stain resistant velvet fabric from Linwood in a gorgeous Atlantic Blue colour which really brought out the colour of the wood. Lynn Beckwith from Leeds saw the French bed we had re-covered on our website for Sheffield artist, Trevor Neal and asked if we could re-cover her own recently acquired bed. Lynn chose a beautiful duck egg blue and bronze fabric from Linwood and asked us to individually hand nail the frame with French natural decorative nails. Rose Drew from Hunter’s Bar in Sheffield asked if we could re-cover her cherished antique French bedroom chair which was old, sagging and tired. Rose picked a luxurious gold, velvet fabric from our Linwood Omega range and a complementary gold braid which suited the chair perfectly. Lynne Wilkinson from Dronfield, Derbyshire approached us after picking up our leaflet at the Rutland Arms Antiques Centre in Bakewell, Derbyshire. Lynne asked if we could re-panel her antique dressing screen which was old and tired, in a fresh new fabric. We recovered Mr & Mrs K Munns old and tired conservatory set in a new, fresh fabric from the Sanderson Madison prints range. We also replaced the foam in the two seat cushions to give a firmer feel to the cushions. Ken & Rosemary’s comments, “We would like to say how pleased we both are with these cushions. Local Sheffield artist Trevor Neal asked us to re-upholster the French bed he had recently acquired. We removed the old fabric and then re-covered the bed using Trevor’s own fabric and a luxurious matching braid which we sourced for him. The results were stunning, as you can see from the photograph.
