Caroline Simpson from Bristol emailed us after seeing our work on the website. Our antique furniture, upholstered in modern fabrics, had inspired her and she had decided to have a Parker Knoll armchair, which had been passed down to her by her parents, re-upholstered in an on-trend fabric so that the chair would fit nicely into her modern home.
Caroline chose a stunning fabric from Designers Guild (Colonnade – Zinc). We stripped the chair to the frame replacing all the old, worn fillings and then stripped the wood, re-staining to a dark, almost black, finish to get rid of the mahogany red colour which Caroline disliked and then French polished and waxed the woodwork.
The results were amazing, as can be seen for the photographs below. A real transformation !
